Victorian Beard Bugs - Group 2

It is a misty autumnal evening but the couple, smitten with love-at-first-sight, feel no cold. The sun has just set and the promenade is in shadow, lit only by the dim glare of gas lamps. Separated by a narrow water channel, the couple initiate a bizarre courtship ritual: leaning over the railings, their beards extend to the water and insects scamper up and down the beards, pausing to unite their tails in a symbol of blossoming affection.
